Year Round 2018 Programming

We are excited to announce that we are launching Year Round Kids Programming in January 2019!

We will be offering the following programs: Cooking, Drama/Theatre, Art, Dance, and 1-1 Tutoring. Each session will be 90 minutes and the programs span eight (8) weeks from January 1 to March 1; every Tuesday and Wednesday evenings from 4:00 - 5:30 & 6:00 - 7:30; with school pick up available between 3:00 PM and 4:00 PM.To give you a brief idea of what each program is about, here is a little description of each:

COOKING: This will be available for kids ages 5 - 7, 8 - 10, and 11 - 13. There are 15 kids per class and 2 - 3 instructors in each class. We will be in a large industrial sized kitchen, where each camper has a station and will be making their own dish, with help, guidance, and assistance from the specialized instructors. Each week will have a theme, for example:Ages 8 - 10: Week Three's theme is Salad.Over the course of 90 minutes the kids will learn how to make three (3) different salads (slaw, pasta, and green) with three (3) different dressings. The kids will cut and prepare their salads with assistance and will be able to bring some home for the family to taste each lesson.

DRAMA/THEATRE: This is unlike any other theatre or drama class kids take, this is a class on learning emotions and being able to express them through the powerful art of acting. Each class the kids will learn a new acting skill (i.e. facial expressions or body placement/posture), they will complete activities that help them practice the skill and then they will practice and develop their end of term show (to be presented at our showcase night)!

ART: Kids love to get their hands messy and they almost always love having a pencil and paper to draw on; however, why not teach them basic and intermediate art skills as well. Each class will have a theme, for example: Facial Profiles; where the specialized instructors will teach the kids how to sketch facial profiles, what to look for, technique, and how to be creative with shading and background imagery.

DANCE HIP HOP: This seems self explanatory, but how many of us wish we could really break it down on the dance floor like Jenna Dewan Tatum and Channing Tatum (may their relationship rest in peace) in Step Up? Well, don't let your kids have the same experience you are having, let them learn how to break it down, how to use their bodies, how to move to the rhythm and feel emotion through their toes!

TUTORING: This is an especially awesome service because we will be offering tutoring on-site and in-home; one-on-one. If you would like a consistent tutor that can provide you with progress reports, on-site and in-home support, without the hassle of organizing them or having to provide the course material, then Laurus Lifestyles Educational Services is for you!Looking for more details?
