10 Family Activities to Try in Laval

Hey Laurus Families,

Our blog thus far has mainly focused on Montreal. So we wanted to show some love to one of our favourite off-island locales: Laval.

Last year we had some fantastic campers and counsellors that travelled from Laval to Laurus Summer Camp in downtown Montreal. We can’t thank them enough for it!

To show our appreciation, we’d like to share a few of our favourite family-friendly outings in Laval. Enjoy!

10. Family Guitar Workshops at La Maison De Quartier Vimont

Every Tuesday, La Maison De Quartier Vimont offers guitar lessons for dads and their children (7-12). There will be an end-of-year show, so be sure to practice! The only cost is an annual $5 family membership fee.

9. Free Hockey and Skating in Laval’s Community Centres

Ice skating is a fantastic and classically Canadian way to stay active during winter! Check out your local community centre's schedule for open skate times.

8. The Cosmodome Space Museum

Learn about the science behind space travel at Laval’s Cosmodome. Interactive exhibits include virtual missions, a space shuttle tour, training simulations, and an immersive 4D cinema. Check out The Cosmodome’s website for rates and schedules.

7. iSoute Trampoline Park

iSoute Trampoline Park features interconnected floor-level trampolines, a dodgeball court with angled trampolines, two basketball dunk centres, and an olympic foam pit for diving. It’s a great way for kids to burn off some serious energy in the winter!

6. The Laval Children’s Museum

With interactive exhibitions designed to let children (2-8) explore the world of grown-up trades, the Children’s Museum is an educational thrill. Whether you’re looking to drive a fire truck, help sick animals, or sing on stage, it’s never too early for little minds to start thinking about their futures!

5. Painting at Le Céramíc Café Studio

Interested in pottery? Le Céramíc Café Studio offers families a chance to paint ceramics. Choose form 2000 unique pieces. Novices and seasoned pros are welcome!

4. Mini Golf at Putting Edge Centropolis

Mini Golf is not just for awkward first dates! With its imaginative glow-in-the-dark course and an interactive arcade, Putting Edge makes for a great family outing.

3. Maison des Artes de Laval

Laval’s Museum of Art houses a diverse range of programmes: children’s story-telling, theatre, trade shows, and contemporary dance performances. It’s sure to inspire creative kids of all kinds!

2. Rock Climbing at Clip ’n Climb Laval

Located in Centropolis, Clip ’n Climb is an indoor climbing facility with courses suitable for beginners and pros alike. We recommend it for seriously active kids that are not afraid of heights!

1.Le Centre de la Nature de Laval

At over 50 hectares, Centre De La Nature is Laval’s largest park. In the winter, families can enjoy cross-country skiing, skating and tubing. You can bring your own equipment or rent it there. If you're looking to escape the cold, the park’s farm and tropical greenhouse is open all year long.

Any places we missed? Be sure to let us know!

Sincerely,

The Laurus Crew
